Penny Kay

I retired in 2016 from my leadership role with Cheshire and now devote my time to three aspects of the NUDGE business – Coaching, Acupuncture and Design. All my work is about my connection and interaction with individual people. No more meetings, report writing, evaluations or dull annual reviews for me! I offer external supervision, coaching and other forms of one-to-one support such as interview preparation and conflict management techniques. I offer day-long coaching sessions and a special transformative offer over six weeks.

But I also make original artworks – special event sketches and exceptional buildings! Watch out for the hashtag #idrawanybuilding and Go to this page to see the most recent artwork and lovely comments that go with them.

Please discuss with me your individual requirements for one-to-one support, non-managerial supervision, one off coaching sessions and regular mentoring.

Meanwhile … Nudge Acupuncture is a community-based acupuncture practice in Manchester, established by me, a trained acupuncturist in the modern Chinese Medicine tradition.

I run a number of clinics. My community clinic is based in the Kath Locke Centre, Hulme where I offer a range of options for patients on low incomes. I have a private practice in Sale at the Manchester Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (MATCM). I also make a limited number of home visits. There are reduced rates for all Big Life and NHS staff at both sites. Also on offer are weight reduction, smoking and alcohol cessation.

I retired from my role as Head of Youth in 2016 and have greatly benefited from the support of a professional coach during transition to semi-retirement. Coaching at the point of retirement can be a very positive way of planning for the future and dealing with the issues that the end of formal working may throw up.
